Much of the Squeezeboxs appeal is its lack of lock-in, which is also a problem for making a sustainable business. You have to credit Logitech for infusing cash and making the hardware a lot nicer. Software has never been one of Logitechs strong suits. This app bears that out -- adequate, but lackluster.
The app disappeared from my iPhone. To start it, I have to search the App Store and click Open.
due to absolutely no support to this worthless app, i ended gettin rid of my squeezebox. not buyin any logitech products ever!! i suggest you all do the same thing, dont buy any of their products.
Works great and while not as customizable as the factory remote, makes up for it by being on my all in one device. Im not ready to ditch the factory remote yet, but I might get there.
I just paid $6 for iPeng which has a gorgeous interface and doesnt require a login to access my music. The Squeezebox server doesnt require a password, so why does the Logitech app?
This app is now a piece of junk. Like other reviewers, I have to login every time I use the app---even if its just to change the volume. Logitech---why dont you look at Sonos or Roomie to learn how to do an app. Fix it for Gods sake! How many reviews to you need before you realize you screwed up?
Dreadful app, has never worked. I keep on revisiting forums and trying different thing to no avail, one wonders if Logitech give a hoot. Seems ridiculous to me that it is necessary to go through Logitech servers to access an Internet radio station, most other streamers access the URL directly. My next one will deform not be a Logitech device unless there support rapidly improves.
This app is easier than using the controls on my Squeezebox itself, but not as much as one would expect. This app seems to cache a snapshot of artists, and never refreshes it. I have been digitally converting vinyl and have been able to see new albums through the app for months (the web interface and device itself does, it is definitely the app). I can browse the music folder, but thats not an ideal interface. I will be exploring the homebrew options out there because the official app just doesnt cut it.
Piece of junk. Didnt use to have login just to access my own server. Seriously, who writes this software?
I bought the squeezebox radio. It is very cool never seeing anything like it. Its very cool and hard to learn I have no book. But this app is BS. It worked one time now I cant find my radio on the same network. This blows fix the app to work like a champ like my radio does.
Its nice to have the Squeezebox interface on your phone. But this app often has trouble finding the Squeezebox, or might see it but fail to connect after that. Usually fails if you turn on the box and the app around the same time. Like, you know, if you want to listen to music!
I use squeezebox server to serve music from my upstairs computer, to my downstairs Roku. Decided to try this app to stream to my iPhone as well, but I will not be signing up for an account just to do this. Your app is useless to me.
Yeah app works fine on iPhone 5 with iOS 6. Stores credentials and everything. Btw...the apl and web browser controls have always required logging into squeezebox server. The radio communicates directly with the servers for adding and accessing favorites. Nothing was ever stored on the device itself. Anyway, I rate 3 stars because sometimes the screen freezes on me and I have to kill the app and open it again. Mostly happens if Im jumping stations every other minute. Especially international stations that take longer to load the image and stream info on the phone.
It used to work, not anymore. Doesnt find the transporter on my network
Like others have said - it crashes, it freezes, it makes you log in too much... It shouldnt take this many reviews to release a bug fix or two!
Since “updating” the app, I am forced to log in each time I open the app. UPDATED: after seeing another review that states to delete the app and reinstall, I did so, and it MIGHT have fixed it. (quitting and re-launching app 30 seconds later might not be the most robust test to ensure things are fixed) This highly user-unfriendly move compounds another major gestural problem with the app that has NEVER worked right: Using the 4-finger/5-finger swipe upward shortcut on iPad to view all open apps (the gestural equivalent of pressing the home button twice). Instead of moving the current window up in order to display other open apps, the app interprets the fingers/gestures as some change to the controls. Changing the music selection, fast forwarding to the next one, switching the volume, moving the playback head to a different position. Oh, and yeah, the other open apps are displayed, but only after messing with the selection now playing. The multi-gesture breakage has trained me to push the home button twice. I think that the “must log in each time you use it” behavior will train me to use any other option (the web interface on computer, or handheld device), or abandon this app altogether for a different alternative.
This is my first review about any app. This is awesome! I havent had the issue of having to log in every time ,so Im guessing the latest update fixed. I use to just use my squeezebox for pandora ,but since downloading this app I can browse radio stations from across the world and control the volume ,pause live radio from all over the world.
In all ready to listen to my music. Sitting outside ready have a beer. Does not work more than it works. If it would work all the time it would be awesome!
People that gave it bad comments do not know what theyre talking about. This is awesome app.
